12 year old tires on the rear?

I just picked up some cheap ($25/each) snow tires for the rear on my 03 G35 coupe. Lots of tread but I just realized they are from like 2001. Any reason why I shouldn't run them for the rest of the winter?

12 year old tires, yikes. They might last you but that sounds kind of sketchy.

You could re-sell them and buy $50/tire that are only a couple years old. Just for the peace of mind.

i did that once, saved some $$ but i wouldnt do it again... the rubber on the tires became hard because the tires sat outside for years... they worked but the traction was horrible, luckily they were just for a daily driver civic

Yeah, not the best idea to use those.
