Works XD9

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and a noob to this whole offset thing. I tried doing some research but I couldn't really figure it out.

I'm trying to invest in these Works XD9 and I'm looking at 18x9 F and 18x10 R.

I don't plan to drop, so what offsets should I be using so it would sit how my 17's stock sit?

If he has 17s that means he can't have brembos. You have a sedan or coupe? Running a 10 inch wheel in the rear, sunken in as much as the stock wheels wouldn't work you'd probably be banging against the suspension components.

Any reason why you want your wheels to sit how the stock 17s do? You don't have to push the rims of the wheel beyond the fender, but making the wheels sit farther out so it's in line with the fender looks much better, imo.

No brembos or anything.

I have a coupe. Sorry for a little misleading, I just didn't want the wheels to stick out beyond the fenders. I just want to have clearance of all components. I agree, making the wheels sit farther out in line or just a little behind the fender might look much bettter. What offsets do you suggest for F & R so I can get an idea? Thanks

I would go with a +12 to +15.
Without any sort of drop, those XD9s are gonna look like straight butt cheese. Any aftermarket wheel is going to look like knut butter on a stock height car. You'd be much better off going with the 19" Rays that come stock on 06+. Even the stock 18's that come on the 03-05 sport models will look more in line with your car than some Works.
If you're going to spend the coin on something like that, at least, for God's sake, put some srings on it. I'm not saying you gotta slam it, camber it, grow a beard, and start drinking Dos Equis. But, a little bit closer to the earth ain't gon hurt nothing. If you don't, once you put the XD9's on, and post a picture on here, EVERYBODY will tell you to lower it. do us a favor and lower it now.

I don't think my car looks like "knut butter" on stock ride height. Although, I will agree that 18's would look better with a drop.

But OP, if you're anything like me, I didn't wanna drop because the streets where I live aren't that great and I'm already scraping everywhere at a stock ride height.

FYI, my wheels are 20x9.5 F A-Disk and 20x10.5R O-Disk with +25 offset all around and it sits perfectly flush at the fenders. I did roll my fenders to clear when I was running 285s in the back with no rubbing issues. The XD-9s are a 1-piece wheel with no disk options so I'm not sure how much that helps.

Your car looks like it smokes copious amounts of the marijuana. AKA...HIGH!! As for the knut butter and butt cheese, nobody thinks THEIR car looks like that. I mean, you put a kit on it, got some rims, WHY on God's green Earth would you ever think that YOUR car looks bad. It's YOUR car. lol.

I don't think MY car looks bad either. But it does. lol. And it will until my wheels are finished being built. Just cuz I know you'll retort with "well, let's see your car".

Do I THINK it looks like buttcheese? Of course not. Do other people? Probably.

Now, again, this drop is a bit on the extreme side, and because Miatas, Corvettes, 350Z's, Ferraris, Lambo's, Vipers, any 2door Porsche, most 1st Gen Neons, any Cadillac from the 80's, any car with a body kit, 96 Mustang GT's, 89-93 240sx's, 280Z's, and R8's can't ride on your roads without scraping, I wouldn't suggest going THIS low. However, there is a WORLD of variation between my height and stock. And, you're going with 18's. Not DUBS. lol
