"Plus up" tires question

I'm considering upsizing my tires to 18. Can anyone tell me or clarify if 245/40/18 is the way to go without loosing performance or having the tire rub against the fender? I haven't decided if I want to play it safe by going with 245/45/18.

Re: "Plus up" tires question

You may want to take a look at the related thread below.... either tire size would be fine; the two sizes 245/40 and 245/45 are the closes diameter to the stock tire, in an 18". I'm trying out the 245/45 in the next day or two, and will report back then.

Re: "Plus up" tires question

Ituryss,

You are just the man I am looking for, I am about to put 20's on my sedan with 245/35/20 tires on them and want to know if I will have any rubbing problems or not. By the way, how is the ride quality now with the new rims, much different?

Hey, post a pic if you can, I would love to see another G with 20's on it. Where did you get your rims and what recommendation do you have if any? Also what brand of tire did you go with?

Sorry for all the questions, but so few out there have 20's on their rides, and I guess this is a forum after all. Thanks.

Once you own the best, everything else is just the rest...

Re: "Plus up" tires question

245/35/20's on 20x8.5in wheels, 38mm backspace. Stock suspension, NO rubbing. Much sharper handling/steering, slightly harsher ride. MANY MORE compliments...
