TPMS issue...

So I was a tech and a service adviser for a few years but can't seem to figure this one out...

I recently replaced the tires on my coupe and decided to get new wheels as well. So I replaced my original OEM TPS sensors on the new wheels and tires. It was good for about a week and today I drove about 20 miles and the light started to flash then go steady then about a half a mile later it went off. now I know tire pressure increases as the tires warm up so I figured I had TOO MUCH air in the tires so I took some out and went from about 38lbs to 34lbs all around. another 20 miles or so later it did the same thing but the light did not turn off. once again checked tire pressure and they're all 34lbs still.

I know that sometimes you need to bring it to the dealership to "relearn" the sensors but they are the same ones so I can't imagine that's it. any suggestions? thanks guys.

the one with the metal wire and all that? not sure I want to attempt that. if the dealership resetting will work I will shell out the cash but i'm not sure that will do the trick because it was fine for a week...

Did you do any service to the tpms sensors when you switched tires?

...
You take a wire, stuff it in to the TPMS reset thing, tap your bolt holding the front seat in 6 times and drive around, having the tires at the appropriate air level.
....
And I'm a numbers guy too!

They sell rebuild kits for them, which essentially replaces the seal.

They take a while for the BCM (if that what pick them up) to recognize they are gone. After I got my winters put on it took 2 weeks for the car to realize there were no sensors :/

lol I just went out to my car and turned it on and off like 3 times and the 3rd time the light wasn't there anymore...wtf? lol

I've heard local tire places like discount tire will check and reprogram for free but not sure if that applies in cali. autozone outlawed the free check engine light scanning in cali and florida.
