Directional Tires?

My buddy just bought a used car with some nice tires on it. Only problem is, the back two tires are both identical. Since they are directional tires, one of them has the outside on the outside, but the other has the inside facing the outside, even though theyre both technically facing forward. Is that a big deal? I know directions are mostly for water displacement when driving on water/snow but will this ruin that tire?

Haha... Call tire rack and they will give you the same response. Tires are not something to cheap out on.

Only if they also have the "outside" label as well like Falken ZIEX.

if it's just directional and not side specific, should just be a matter of having that tire unmounted from the rim and remounted facing the right direction so both rears are facing the way they need to.

There shouldn't be anything saying "outside" or "this side out" on a directional tire. That phrase would indicate they are asymmetrical. Directional tires will point one way like an arrow, but don't have an inside/outside. Can you post pics or let us know the make/model of the tire?

On directional tires they are made one way. You have to have the inside on outside on one side. Should have directional arrows on the tires for rotation. I think are on correct. I have directional hankooks on my X. That how they are on my car.
One side will have date of manufacturing otherside will be letters.

Neal knows his "Stuff" just mount with the arrows pointing the correct direction. I believe my set Michelin PS2s were asymmertrical where they had both arrows and inside/outside written on the sidewalls...Gary
