You have clear coat failure. You will have to bring these down to bare metal and repaint. With a good amount of time you can make them look brand new c

Personally, I'd just sand blast them and powder coat. If there's no real curb rash, I'd be able to do it in 2 days time for you start to finish. Granted I'd only recommend doing a single color. I had CC failure on my MRR wheels, I just stripped them down, PC'd the lips gold and the barrel black. Came out great, taping was a PITA. Never again lol.

To strip down the wheel and re-clear....I'd say $150-$200? I'd say ask a local car shop if they'd be able to. To powder coat, I usually charge $600-$700/set depending on the wheels.

If you like the way your rims looked before the clearcoat failed you need to find a "Wheel Repair Shop" in your area! Since you gave us zero information on where you live we can't recommend a shop. Ask members in your area who they recommend. Normal charge to fix a wheel is $50 each plus but they'll be like new. I had the clear removed from my Volks and polish them once or twice a month with Mothers metal polish, the results are they look like chrome...that shiny!

Before you spend hundreds and maybe thousands of dollars, try this. Go to Walmart and buy a bottle of naval jelly and a small 75 cent paint brush. Wash your rims thoroughly after you rinse them. Wet the paint brush and dip the brush into the bottle of naval jelly. Apply a liberal amount to all surfaces you want to clean. Let sit for 10 maybe 15 minutes and wash off the naval jelly, then rinse your rim(s). Your rims will look like new. Naval jelly cost under 4 bucks but cleans all dirt, grime, deposits and rust from any surface and it won't harm your chrome, clear coat, or your paint.

Urb, I think you are confusing this with the jelly from Kentucky.

On a serious note, anyone ever try this on calipers or rotor hats?

OP, sorry for the hijack.

Naval jelly was invented to clean naval ships. That's where it gets its name. I have and Keep a bottle of it. I use twice a year on my rims to Keep them looking new. You can use it on any surface.

$50 for a wheel repair? Such things exist? I never heard of such a thing. Any shop I've gone to wants $150/wheel. I'd rather travel outside of NY for those prices lol.

Naval jelly...seriously? Gotta try this

I would love to see $50/wheel. $150 ea in Nebraska too. Don't believe all the rumors, we do have cars, paved roads and even telephones.
