Polishing Work VS-XX

I worked on my wheels for about an hour today and barely got any done. Wondering if there is a better way of going about this. I am "wet sanding" with a Scotch-Brite pad until the clear coat is gone, then just polishing it out with Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish. The reason I'm sanding the clear off is because the PO screwed them up with chemicals and it sat for a while and it completely ate through in multiple places. That little section took me almost an hour. I also cant polish the entire lip, I can't reach the inside where all the finish bolts are.

After

The results look good, but it just takes a long time. Any comments or concerns or advice is helpful. Thanks

Yes. Take them to a wheel shop and they will disassemble, polish, reassemble for $250 to $275. Sit back and enjoy a beer while your wheels are being done (takes about a week). My time is worth way more than the money and hassle. Also as you mentioned, even if you get every part you can, there will still be parts undone that will look like crap.

Here is the outcome of my wheels, which had some rash on each wheel, one dent, and the same crappy *** oxidation that Work/Volk wheels get if cleaned with anything but water:

Work lips are anodized clear. You can't polish them, as you would other lips like Volk, etc. You have to chemically strip the anodizing and then polish, and then either clear anodize or leave a raw polished finish that you can polish periodically.

If you want them done right, I would strip the lips completely, and chrome the lips after.
