Your satisfaction with your winter tires...

How satisfied are you with your winter setup. Tell us what type of G (Coupe (Brembo or Non) or sedan) what size , what type of rims (Steelies or Mags), the tires (Size up front and in back) and you overall impression on winter driving in snow and ice.

I have an 04 Coupe w/Brembo and i purchased 17" Eagle allows, they were fairly cheap and look great for winter. I must say that with the brembos it certainly limits 17" rims you can use. The tires I am using are Toyo Observe Garret HT 225/55/17 all around.

I find that the sidewall is not very stiff and since the car has so much torque i find myself having trouble getting traction and the slip light is always coming on, and that even on a clean, dry surface. In deep snow, the back has a tendancy of wanting to go out on you with the slip light coming on very frequently.

I used to own an Audi TT 225 Quattro and i must say that a real wheel drive car is not as stable in the snow, but that is to be expected.

I have 04 6mt g35coupe. I use my stock rims and put blizzaks LM-22 on. the car handles really well in snow. with the help of vdc.. I'm very confident driving my coupe in snow.

I have 17" coupe rims (using a 3mm spacer for the fronts) on my 04 6mt and Blizzak ws-50s. I never had any trouble here in OH with this combo. I did find it easier to get around in the heavy stuff by shutting off the VDC and letting the wheels spin a bit to get around corners. This was only done at speeds less than 35mph, then I'd turn the VDC back on again when I'd get on the freeways, etc. You can't stay on the gas so much when going through corners or the back will always come out. Its a rwd and no tires will stop that effect in heavy snow. You gotta know when to get off the gas to keep control...

03 6MT coupe with 17x7 TSW's on Blizzaks 225/50/17 and 235/50/17. Up here in New England, this has been the worst winter in a long time. Our recent 30' snow storm I was out in my G driving around in 3 to 4 inchest of snow. I have a long driveway that gradually goes up and out of the 4 cars/trucks (the fam) that go up it only my G, and my fathers 4x4 (f-150) could get up it. My mothers maxima had some trouble, (I had to get it up and had a bitch of a time), and my sisters Acura RSX, well that thing sat at the bottom becuase it just wasnt happening. Overall I couldn't be happier with my setup... heres a pic of the pimpin 17s (sarcasm)

There are no 19" snow tires. For your 2005 with sport 19" wheels you will need to get all-season radials or purchase 18" wheels w snow tires.

I've got Pirelli 240 SnowSports 225 & 245/45/18's mounted in '04 18" rims. Great tires that I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I have Enkie RPM2's with 225x50 Pilot Alpin 2's for the winter. They hold very well and I have no issue with them. On my coupe I had Pilot Alpin 235/45 for two years and the third year I got the PA2's in the 245/40 front and 245/45 rear. I noticed that going up my driveway, the wider tire did not do as well. The 225 on the sedan works very well. I highly recommend them.
