My Vredestein are better than your Michelin.
Contacted Cody at thetirerack.com for some input, he said the Porsche guys easily go thru the Super Sports in 10K miles. With a rear wheel drive G35 you'd have to drive very, very hard to go thru a set in 10K miles. He also mentioned that alignment might also contribute to that kinda wear. With my SPL camber kit and a shop that knows how to align modified suspensions I get good mileage from my Michelin Pilot S/S.

Joker, thanks for the info on the Vreds. Need to replace my rears very soon and currently shopping. Also considering the S-04's as they seem to get excellent reviews and are <$200 for rears. On TR.com, they are pretty close to the PSS's.
Are the Vreds noticeably narrower than spec? I've heard this before about them. And what about steering response?

I did not drive my G hard, by hard I mean I never did a burn out or spun tires in any way.
Just 10k miles of spirited driving where only on Tail of the dragon in few turns tires produced some noise.
Gary
that's not bad.
However considering that I was not able to tell any difference between the two tires in performance. I still find no reason to choose Michelin over Vredestein.

so what you saying if I get PSS and go do burn outs, bring bald tires back within a week I get new tires?
When I was on winding and canyon roads it was actually less tiring than on highways.
I actually got all sweaty once turning the wheel left and right in the turns.
So overall G did good, was able to pack enough stuff for two plus cooler with food and was quite comfortable.
I was going to put a new stereo in the car before the trip, but the one I want has not come out yet so I left with a broken OEM stereo. I though I'll be bored without stereo. Luckily I got the exhaust installed before the trip so I listened to that tune the whole trip. We would roll down the windows, open the sun roof and just listen to that sound echo off the canyon walls.
It was awesome.
Would be nice to do this again some day with couple more Gs.
Not quite. The warranty departments at each tire company know the difference between a tire that wore prematurely even while being properly taken care of (rotations, alignments done, etc) and one that's been on a track/abused. They won't tread life warranty a tire like that.
I'm on my 3rd set of Vredesteins. For the money, there is no better tire period. The tire grips like crazy in dry and wet weather. It wears well, and turn-ins are responsive due to the firm sidewall.
