Rim spacer question?? What is it exactly?
ok i know it pushes the rims out. like the rims im looking at they say you need a 5mm spacer to push the rim out so it clears the brembo brakes. so does that mean the spacer is only like less than a 1/4 inch in width cause 5mm equals about .20 so closest thing would be a 1/4 inch spacer correct. so you just put the 1/4 inch thick spacer behind the wheel and it pushes the wheel out 1/4 inch so it will clear the brembos. am i missing something here or am i on the right track?
You are on track, but dont just buy some cheap a$$ spacers. Get the H&R wheel spacers. I tried some cheap a$$ ones from a local tire shop and at high speeds there was way too much vibration in the wheels. The H&R's are made of much better quality. And when I installed them I didnt notice a difference in ride quality with the H&R's and without them.
You can get H&R spacers from here.

And oh yeah, it's not rims, it's wheels.

I used a 3 mm spacer to put 17" coupe rims on my 6mt. Worked great for winter wheels/tires and I never had any vibration. I woudn't get anything thicker than 3mm though unless you replaced the studs. I think Nismo might make a nice one spacer that goes out a little farther...
