03 Sedan front fenders rolled but not rear ? Safe setup
I just noticed yesterday my new G35 sedan has fully rolled front fenders but the rears are untouched. I just got the car a month ago and I've been buried under the hood and interior working on it so never noticed til I got to looking inside the fender wells. Now why would just the fronts be rolled and not the rears too. If anything I would think the rears would be rolled. I was looking because a lot of work has been done on the car and I've been correcting some errors. Its wheel and tire time for me.
Looking at the car now which is a 2003 G35 Sedan premium with sport suspension. The car has either z/coupe springs in the rear and stock up front. Not just the normal look but a good inch higher in the front end. I came from a Mustang running 17x9 wheels and I had 275's in the rear and 245's up front which I think was perfect. Looks like now the front I won't need to worry about. So I can get rears rolled if need be. I'm usually a do it yourselfer so is there some kind of weatherstrip (similar I can put inside the rear to prevent gashes til the fender gets rolled if I lower it with wider tires. I will go to a 20x8 or 20x9 wheel setup with +35 in rear and +30 up front within the +5. This is a safe normal sedan offset to give some aggressiveness and run a tire that is 245ish 9 to 9.5 inches wide safely correct. I'm used to these American specs and its hard to get used to MM and CC, for me, lol. I'm going to go with a Z front springs to even out the car ride. So the drop is not aggressive. At worst Eibach Pro kit or something like that. I like a .5 to 1 inch gap between top of tire and fender well. So back to the fender rolling. Why would the previous owner just have the fronts and not the rear. If I went 275 on a 20x9 wheel with +30 to +35 offset on Z or Coupe springs is it safe without issues?
