18" MB Weapons (A-tech Eraser) in Silver

These were sold out in GM.. so I bought bronze and had them powdercoated to Sparkle Silver. I kept stock size and offsets (18x8+30).

I intended to have the lip polished, but the Atechs come powdercoated already, so it would have meant alot of prep. The wheels didnt cost that much, I didnt want to spend their value in refinishing brand new wheels. I should have blasted and painted.. but its too late for that :/

I had 17s and wanted to move up to 18s. I was looking at OEM 18s. These were in lieu of OEM. I always liked the SSR Comp look, but not the $2k price tag.

Anyway, I got the rims and KDW2's for $1400 from DTD. I know wheel snobs wont approve. Heck, I'd like some Comp-Hs or TE37's. But this leaves me some cash for a Nismo LSD.

DTD says they are strong. And there's a 350z guy auto-xing on them. They should last awhile.

on to the pics

the powdercoater was supposed to use Sparkle Silver. It came out much darker than the sample he gave me.

I'm considering those wheels for my car in 18x9, but at 25lbs each that might prevent me from doing it. Can I ask how much the powdercoating cost?

These were 22, does one extra inch add that much?

I paid 200. They come powdercoated already. So, they can powdercoat over that. It was going to cost a bit more to get the PC off, where as paint would have been easy to media blast. I probably got the darker color because its silver over bronze. I really fault the PC-er for this tho. He should have known.

He also talked me out of polishing the lip because he was afraid they would hit the spokes. In retrospect, this was their limitation, not an undoable thing. I should have found another shop and paid a bit more.
