TPMS reprogramming
I know tpms needs to be reprogrammed when putting in new ones but can they self pair to the vehicle? I'm asking because I swapped the oem 17s on my coupe for rays that came with tires and tpms sensors but my tpms light never turned on. do I still need to get them reprogrammed?
I think TPMS senders still only come in a couple different frequencies and they were designed to be "mostly" interchangable... German's do different things... As long as the reciever gets the correct frequency at each wheel then it sends the OK signal back. Someone might come in and correct me but I don't THINK the ones on our vehicle were dealer-specific programmable type ones.
Still, verify the system is working by deflating a tire more to more than 25% loss and see if the light turns on the dash just to verify the system is working as intended.

eBay usually has some good deals, just be careful which brand you buy. Do your research before hitting the buy button.

well i my tpms system failed to alert me that i had low tire pressure on my trip. went to have my tire checked out and its not good. Have to buy a new set. Now how can i check if the sensor dont work or if its the system that its not operating properly?
Air down tires to 25psi individually and drive to make sure the light comes on. A short trip at 25psi isn't going to hurt anything but anything below 31 psi should turn the light on. After you air the tire back up it takes about 1/4 mile for the light to turn off, rinse/repeat for every tire.
it was a long drive lol shreded the tire on the insde so i was driving on it pretty low for a while. my question is, if the sensor where bad wouldnt i get the flashing low pressure light on the dash?
