Just 350Z springs on the front?

Hey,
I've got an 03 6MT coupe that I'd like to drop a little. I've had tein s-tech's on before but it was too much and I didn't want to spend the money on alignment arms.

I really liked the difference that the s-tech's made because they dropped the front about .5" more than the rear (1.2/.7). I thought I read that the 350Z springs will lower my car by about .5" all around.

So I was thinking, maybe I could just buy a used pair of 350Z springs and just put them on the front to get the same sort of difference without buying new camber arms?

I don't remember the Z spring rates off the top of my head, but I suspsect I'll want them a little stiffer than stock just to account for the weight transfer to the front. (I think the s-tech's did this as well)

Any suspension experts out there with some thoughts on this crazy idea?

Why do you think so?

That would lower the car equally all around and I'm not really looking for that.

The oem 350Z spring rates are the same as the coupe springs. I'd imagine you wouldn't have any problems using just the oem 350z front springs on your coupe. Do you feel that the front is too high in relation to the rear? Is this purely for looks? What is your goal or motivation?

Exactly,
I just put on my 19" mercury silver SF-Winnings and the front fender gap looks bigger than the rear.

I also thought the car looked nice with the extra .5" of rake between the front and the rear. It even made the car a little more confortable because I was looking down over the hood at a better angle.

I still don't know if the alignment can handle the front drop without alignment arms, but it's got to be better than the 1.2" drop I had for a while with the s-tech's. My right front was really starting to show extra wear on the inside edge which is why I put the stock springs back on.

I'm also considering going with the Z springs, I've read that the alignment will still be virtually on spec as it's a pretty smalll drop (.5").

Ya, that's what some people were saying about the S-tech's that I put on.

Since the front's don't have any kind of adjustment for camber, I'm guessing they'll be out of spec a little, but hopefully not so much that they tear the tires up real fast.

Sure wish I could remember were I put that print out with all the spring rates for all the aftermarket springs and the stock G and Z springs.

i'm surprised that you like the lower front look. I can't stand the way my car is. I've even considered cutting my springs....
