18x9 +15 on all corners...tire suggestions? 2005 G35 cpe.

Hello! This is my first post/sooo' let us begin:

I need tire suggestions for 18x9 +15 wheels. I like the idea of 235/45's-front and 245/45's rear. The constraints are: no fender pulling and rolling. The car is used a commuter that sometimes travels country roads...most of the time you can find the car at Walmart, Home Depot/Lowes or Jersey Mike's.

*Please, post any and all comments about how ridiculous or great this will look...If you have a pic of a similar set-up; post that thing too!

Thanks,

Have a nice weekend everyone!

are you on stock suspension?
Why do you "like" the idea of 235f and 245r?

Stock suspension...I like the idea of the 235/245 because when I researched them and the tires are not $150ea and the skinny rubber shouldn't rob the fuel tank on longer trips. However, if there is a better fit for performance I'll take any and all suggestions.

Picked up the wheels and they look amazing! headed out to mount and will go with what I got. Anything will be better than the staggered 17s

Wider tires don't affect rolling resistance and will not affect fuel economy.

HEAVIER tires and wheels will affect economy minimally.

Taller tires MIGHT affect economy depending on how it changes your rpm and engine load, and aerodynamics.

Aerodynamics will GREATLY affect economy.

Motor efficiency and potential for fuel consumption will GREATLY affect economy.

Thx...I didn't mount the tires today and I just want a size that will look like something stock-esque. No rolled fenders or stretchers. Just a "nice" set-up. Right now I only have 235/45 & 245/45. So tonight I will do a lot of tire comparisons to get an idea about where I should go. Especially since these tires will be on for at least 3 years

Moving to another size 245/40 and 265/40 and I'm more concerned about rubbing. If I have to roll the fenders then so be it. Are these numbers any good?

I'm not sure about the numbers but for the roll if you've never done it I strongly suggest just getting ahold of a quality body shop and asking them for their EXPERIENCE (to make sure theyre proficient at it) and how much they charge because most places do it for cheap.

If you go too fast and don't use enough heat you'll spiderweb crack the paint and will be hating life. It's not too hard to do but it requires a lot of patience and I use an infrared heat gun to watch the temp of tht paint (wife uses the IR gun while I'm rolling and she tells me the readings), personally I like 140°F because you get a few more seconds for passes with the roller and stop when it hits 120°F to reheat, you definitely want to go with small adjustments and work the roller extra times, it'll take at LEAST a half hour per fender if you're going slow like that.

Thank you for this response and thank you for single handedly "manning" the g35 site. You are the most consistent and active that I have seen. Idk why this site is like a ghost-town when the product was good and reliable for well over 150k

The membership has declined in numbers and quality. It's inevitable though as our cars age, hell people are buying high mileage first gens for $3000 and when that demographic becomes the majority most of the new members have neither the money nor the skills to do quality mods. You get the muffler delete, 12K headlight, plasti-dip and Maaco paint fanboys. The first gen G's are literally the new Honda and it really hurts my heart to see.

We do still get great new members though, just not enough to take us back to the glory days and cleric's one of the best.

See I loved the civic and what people did with it back in it's heyday, type-R clones, all manner of cosmetic work from the most beautiful bodywork all the way to the most terrifying hacksaw jobs you've ever seen. I've been waiting for the day when the G/Z hit that level of affordability because there will still be a TON of people doing quality work but the aftermarket will blow up harder than ever since so many more people will be looking to mod an inexpensive vehicle.

Not too many folks take a $38k vehicle and dump another $10+ grand on it, many people will take a $8k vehicle and dump $10k on it though.

Update: This worked!

18x9 +15 wheels. I like the idea of 245/40's-front and 265/40's rear (255/40 is likely to work in the front).
