My front left rim has gone flat on me maybe 4 or 5 times, I took it to a spot where they heated and straightened what seamed to be a dent from a pot hole and it worked great for maybe 7/8 months. A few times they used a sealent because the air was leaking where rim meets the tire, that held for a few months each time, same problem and fix again this week and they said they cleaned up some corrosion, but it only held a day. I'm kinda fed up with fixing it, and was looking into just buying the 1 rim new again, but not at $500, it's a 20" MRR GT1 (not sure the width, but tire width is 245). So I'm thinking of getting a rim that looks just like it, I have found 2, Varrstoen ES1 BBS style and Enkei Lusso performance series. From up close you can see the difference, but they look very similar. Or should I give it another shot at actually getting it fixed? Also, I have google searched 20" MRR GT1 and CarID sells it for $275-$315, but it says it will not fit my car, could they be wrong and I should buy it? Thanks for any feedback

I would never let Ye 'Olde Tyre Shoppe fix a wheel unless I knew them personally and could vouch for their craftmanship. Things like this are best to return to the manufacturer (or usually ANY wheel manufacturer who has the correct tools) and have it professionally fixed.

When it ruptures under load around a corner and you wrap your $10k vehicle around a tree and possibly suffer major trauma yourself you will seriously regret the band-aid they slapped on your wheel, that it doesn't hold air right now is just a huge red flag that you shouldn't be using it.

I agree with him. Professionals or not at all.
