Optional Tire sizes for factory G35 coupe 6mt rays.

So i bought a spare set of rays for essentially an occasional track setup but still plan to drive on the street when i don't have my volks on. Does anyone have have any thoughts on a more aggressive tire size that won't make my speedo all wonky. Wanting to get a wider tire than stock and want to know what others have run that's different from the factory recommendations.

I've ran 245/35/19 front 255/35/19 rear, now run 265/35/19 rear but there's a lot of sidewall flex/slop/roll. Fine for street i don't know about track.

Is your Rays the staggered setup or squared?

Yes 19x8 front and 8.5 rear. I run the look-a-like, non-forged 18x7.5 square with 235/45, 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers, in the fall and spring. Parked when it snows.

The maximum tire width approved for a 8" wheel width is a 245
The maximum tire width approved for a 8.5" wheel width is a 255

stock rolling diameter is about 26.7" and 26.9" (for the 18")
stock rolling diameter is about 26.1" and 26.7" (for the coupe 19")

For track you could run a 245/40R19 (26.7") square, as a lot of track folks prefer a square setup. or if you want a smaller diameter for that bit of gearing help 245/35R19 (25.8" and may be able 1-2mph off)
Otherwise maybe a 245/40R19 (26.7" diameter) and a 255/40R19 (27" diameter)

you can go wider than the approved size fitting, but certain tire shops may not mount it as its not approved by TRA or ETRTO.

What's the wear like on the 265s? I'm researching on what size I should go to and I was planning on also doing 245/35F 265/35R on 19s.

Its hard to compare treadwear life unless you are going to run the same tire and have the same alignment specs. If alignment is within OEM specs, it'll have an even wear, so it'll come down to the type of tire you have compared to his (summer tire vs all season tire)
