I have 19" stock Infiniti Rays on my 2005 Coupe 6MT. I am looking at some used tires to keep my costs low and there is a set of 2x 225/40R19 and 2x 255/35R19 available for $220 all in near where I am and the tires look to be good.
However, the 19" Rays that I have with worn out tires have 245/40R19 in the rear. I looked at comparisons and it looks like 255/35R19 will fit on the 19" rim.

Is that a good thing to change the size ? Or should I strictly adhere to the stock sizes of the coupe. I have no mods on my car and want to keep it stock for a while.

Looks like it’s only 2.65% (or about 16mm or 2/3”) shorter height. I don’t see an issue. It will sit a bit wider on the wheel so if you have tight clearance it may be an issue. Speedo read will be ever so slightly higher than actual.
