Chrome or No Chrome?

i have a black coupe and i was going to order away for the maido rt5's soon, 20'' with a polished finish.
all my friends said i better the the chromes instead, they look better. and i disagreed cuz everybody has chrome wheels on ****ty cars, and i dont wanna make mine look like that
but then the other day i saw a couple cars on the road- a black maxima with nice chromes and a lexus GS with chrome wheels. the cars looked stunning! the chrome really set the picture.

but i dont know, what are your opinions?
btw i remembered seeing pictures of a black g35 with the chrome maido rt5s a while ago ..on this board.. anyone know where i can find the link to that? i already searched the forum

here's the link to the Black coupe with chrome RT5's: http://home.comcast.net/~neil.r/G35/

IMO, it's nice, but too flashy. i'd floss some black centers with chrome/polished lips instead. give it a more VIP look.

I am for chrome 99% of the time but in this case I would get the silver. Chrome on these rims doesn't look good on this type of design. I would definately go with silver with the chrome lip!!! I almost got the same rims but found a great deal on some DPE's

It's a personal decision, but I am not a fan of chrome. Too "bling bling" for me.

I agree with that, smoke chrome center with polished lip.

It all depends what look you want. You can't go wrong with chrome or black on a black G.

Im not much into chrome wheels. However only chrome wheels I like on a G35 is the " Veilside Andrew " pix#1 or 6969G35's Maya RT5 pix#2. My preference is black center with polished lips.

Just to let you guys know I have a set of DPE's (exactly like the pic of the rim in the box above) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3ALC%3AMT%3A1
They will only work on the Non-Brembo model. 20x8.5 (245/35) and 20x10" (275/30) Tires are Toyo T1-S. Rims are MINT and even have the inner rim behind the spokes polished!
Tires have about 2,000 miles if that and still have those little things hanging off of them. (what so you call them?) Anyone close enough to Albany NY is welcome to check them out in person.

I am shocked to see so many people voting against chrome. I completely agree its your car and you should pick what you like best, but I felt the need to post with all the anti-chrome remarks.

To me, chrome is the way to go. Nothing looks nicer IMO than clean chrome rims on a well waxed car just gleaming in the sun...Gorgeous. I have 20 inch chrome GFG wheels on my G so I am somewhat bias. However, if you live in a non-snow area and take good care of your car/rims I think chrome is real nice.

This is not to say that other finishes won't also look good. Normally I am not a fan of painted wheels, but black wheels with a chrome or polished lip on a black G does have a sleek-sharp look. But again...your opinion, your money, your decision.

I'm not sure about those specific rims becuase I've never seen them. But i have a black G with chrome 20 MKWs and it looks really good. Especially when the sun hits them. :-) And black and chrome is always nice. One more suggestion is to never get a chrome grille. My dad had put one on my car and i really dont like it, and neither do other people. At least not the one form Infiniti.
