2005 brakes are sweet

I have had my 2005 AT coupe now for 2 months and I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the brakes.

I thought the 2003-4 models had "grabby" brakes that engaged early and were too sensitive. The 2005 brakes seem much more linear and proportionally responsive to pedal pressure.

Also, we all know about the brake dust problems of the 2003-4 models. So far, the 2005 brakes don't release excessive dust and don't require weekly cleaning.

Anyone have brake dust problems with the 2005?

yep, i'll agree they are very good for stock brakes. my dealer said that they're almost as good as the Brembos.

Does anyone else have a problem in wet weather with the 05 brakes??

When im in wet weather and i get to a full stop and once i let go of the brakes i have problems. Once i let go, i feel like the brake pad has clamped onto the disc and feel like a clunk sound upon release.
When i serviced the car, i told the guy, he said they inspected it and found nothing wrong with them. Any solutions to this problem or suggestions to why this happens?
If my technical specifications to the problem are weak, please excuse me, im not very savvy with car parts.

'05 breaks on my 6MT coupe are fine, very good stopping power and not very much dusting either. The lack of dust may also be due to the relatively narrow spokes on the rims. I noticed broader spokes tend to accumulate and show break dust more. I agree the stopping power of the breaks is very linear, not grabby and do not fade easily.

Agree,

Brakes are great and very little dust. At the risk of sounding over-dramatic..

These brakes produce less dust than any car I've ever owned. Normally my wheels need a cleaning after a week of commuting to work. Mine still look great..

Same thing here on my '05 with about 1700 miles. It's almost as if the pad has rusted to the rotor just in the time you've been stopped. Only happens in wet weather.

while on the subject, first i agree. very little dust. however, i find it difficult or at least very tedious to clean. especially in between where the spoke meets the rim. you know what i mean? it seams to be a real 'knuckle scraper'.

I heard that waxing your rims makes the brake dust not stick as well? Is this true, if so how should I do it?
