Mixing Tire brands

I'm looking to get a new set of tires for my 03 6MT Coupe. Based on what I've been reading in the forums, I'm thinking to go with the BFG KDW2's. Of course, the current stock Pilot Sport tires on the rear are shot while the fronts still have pleny of tread left. My question is this, has anyone mixed tire brands on their G35 Coupe? I know the tire manufacturers will say not to do this, but I did it on my 240sx and never had any problems.

I think it's okay to mix brands as long they are on oppostite ends. You never want to mix brands on the same end. And even on the same end you don't want to have two different models of tires even though they are the same brand. And even if you mix two different brands on opposite ends, make sure they are the same type of tires. Don't put all seasons on the front and then max summer tires in the rear for example. All common sense stuff really.
