black with a polished lip would look nice. actually black with polished lip looks good on anything IMO, just like chrome on anything.

I just switched back to 18's from 20's and thought I wouldn't miss my 20's. Just put the 20's back on after lowering the car and I'm not going back to 18's now. I like the road response from small side walls better.

How much did you lower your car?
what is the wheel / tire set up that you have on?
and how do you compare the ride quality between the 20's and 18's?

Thanks.

Just installed 20" Mercury Silver VOLK GT-C's on my new Laser Red/Graphite '05 Coupe, and I must say it looks even better than on my old '03 Silver/Graphite Coupe. It really makes the rims and the Red stand out more. I love it.

Oops... forgot. the ride is just as good as the factory 19's, a little (slightly) rougherbut handles even better. A+ I had a NISMO syspension on my '03, but like the stock setup ride better with the 20" Volks.

I have had 20s on my car almost as long as I have had the car so I don't really remember how the ride was without them. That being said, the suspension on my car is stock and no one has ever complained about a rough ride because of the wheels.

As for black wheels on a red coupe - I have always been partial to chrome.
In other words, I wouldn't go with that color combo, but to each their own.

The ride is not bad...feels the same as the ride w/ 19s.

I used tein flex's
wheel set up is 245/35/20 front
285/30/20 rear (no rubbing)

lowered rear about 1.25" (almost 2 finger gap)
front about 1.5" lower (half finger gap). After the allignment I think it raised the rear a little and lowered the front a little more. I have to re measure everything and take it back for another allignment when I replace the front tires and camber kit.

the quality of ride between the 20's and 18's all depends. I found out it depends on what suspension setup you use, how you setup the suspension and what tires you use.

If you asking about how they feel with just stock suspension and just a wheel size change over. It's going to be like everyone else says. "more road feed back and stiffer ride". Also smaller side wall seems to easilly spin and silently

Like the previous post mentions, its dependent on which wheels you have, what tires you use, and what suspension you use.

Alot about the wheel is dependent on the weight of the wheel. Although I wouldn't ever buy a wheel for how much it weighs (because my car is just driven on the street) of course a TE is going to weigh less than a chrome Giovanna.

Tires are dependent on tread compound, if the compound is pretty hard - like a Bridgestone or Michelin, the ride will obviously be a litte more harsh than rollin' a Yokohama for instance.

Probably most importantly is the suspension, running a coil over such as Flex or JIC (being more race oriented) will just plain be stiffer then a Hypermax LS or ComfortSpec.

The thing you've got to remember is your tolerance, some people can tolerate a lot and some are complainers about everything. Just remember, switching suspension and wheels are never going to yield the same ride quality and comfort level as stock.

I'm riding on 20's with Hypermax - can't complain one bit about ride quality.
