SSR Rims any good??
SSR Rims any good??
I'm deciding between BBS RGR and SSR rims (black with polished lip). And I wanted to know if the SSR's are any good. Quality wise and performance. I know they weigh more than the BBS but what is the quality on those rims? Are they worth buying or should I stick with a better grade of rims. Thanks.
I had a set of SSR's on my last car. They are very good wheels. I never had any problems with them unlike the junky stock wheels on the new 05 Coupe. My wheels are almost black inside from something. Never had that problem with the other car.
SSR's are a good JDM brand. as far as quality wise goes. they're forged, and semi-forged. they are very soft though. Professor SP1's, Type C's/Competition's, are very soft. There Vienna Series is fully forged, but soft as well. I've had Type C's, and Vienna Courage's and the smallest bump/imperfection in the road may bend these.
Keep in mind that if you damaged a wheel, only if tirerack has them you'll be able to replace them. if tirerack don't got it, you're s.hit out of luck.
Still, SSR is a JDM brand i'd get, but be very very careful with.

20x10 rear and 20x9 front and after 2 years still nothing wrong with them. CA bay area freeways and streets aren't that great at all.

Well I definitely do not want soft wheels. What about BBS RGR? I know BBS makes good wheels but are they soft as well? I dont understand why they make rims so soft. That's just dumb, It'd be fine if we were tracking it everyday but driving in the city where there's a lot of potholes would be unpractical. I've definitely decided to go with BBS.
i'd floss the BBS RGR's. they're forged too right? are those BBS one's the one's with the Labia? those are f.uckin' HOTT. there is an E46 M3 with those here in hawaii.
