Need quick info...How do you like your Pilot Sports?

Found some wheels and tires I'm considering, OEM 18"s...just wondering how everyone likes the Mich Pilot Sports (non A/S). What kind of milage can I expect with them, I dont drive harsh, but only got 21000 out of the rears on my stock 17"s.

You'll get about 15-20k at most. You pay to play.

They are good tires but expensive and wear out quickly. My rear's
lasted 16,000 miles with no burnouts or abuse of the tires. i replaced
them with BF Goodrich GForce KDW2, better treadwear, lower price, and I don't
feel any performance loss.

I went through a front set of Pilots in 7k miles. The inside of the tires feathered so badly that it felt like/sounded like I was driving a dump truck. Infiniti blamed Michelin, Michelin blamed Infiniti. It was a no win situation so I sold the f**kin car. I still believe it was an alignment issue and Inifniti should have replaced the tires and fixed the problem, but I"ll never know for sure. Sorry for the rant- the truth is that high perf. tires don't last much more that 15k-20k under normal wear.

Couldn't you have just done an alignment and new tires instead of selling the car

if you have a problem with a michelin tire you can count on them to do absolutely nothing about it. Read michelin complaints here

I like the Pilot Sports in the dry, but think they suck in the wet (despite their high ratings for wet traction).

I hated the stock 225/18 and 245/18 Pilot Sports. The front end always washed out when going into a corner hot. Before they wore down, I replaced them with Potenza S-03 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 in rear (still on stock rims). Now, the car sticks very well without the wash out. I replaced my first set after about 16k.

How much did you pay for the tires. Just to make sure you mounted these on the stock 18's?

After all is said and done (mounting, recycling fees, etc), total cost is just under $1200. Yes, these are on the stock 18" rims of my 03 5AT w/tire and wheel package.
