Brake and Tire Noise

I have an '04 Coupe (9700 miles) with the stock 18's. I get A LOT of squealing when I brake, and I get what sounds like tire rubbing noise at low speeds (20mph). The service department tells me this is a common issue. Have any of you experienced this?? Have you been able to resolve the problem??

not sure bout that braking squeal (shouldn't squeal that much on the non -brembo's
from what i hear) but the front tire noise is probably caused by improper alignment
from the factory.

I'm taking it in for service on Wed. I'll let you know what they tell me.

I had squeaking noise for months then I decided to purchase some Hawk HPS pads from Stillen when they were on sale. When I had finally had time last weekend to replace the pads, I found out that they weren't worn all the way to "replacement spec," but I think it was just the moving parts that were squeaking all this time. I replaced my brake pads anyway and got some Permatex caliper grease to put on to make sure I wouldn't get any squeaking. I recommend applying this to the shims and the "retainer" piece as Nissan calls it in the tech manual. It's the metal part on the ends of the caliper that holds the brake pads in.
