Front strut tower brace

Has anybody bought this yet? I've always heard it was impossible on our cars. DC Sports makes it.

They look good. Titanium too. I wonder what the clearance is like above the plenum. Might be an issue for those running an aftermarket plenum or plenum spacer? Is that a Front and Rear set?

I checked the DCSports site and it's for the front only. It still lists as "coming soon"
though.

Id like to get it, the front end needs more rigidity on this car for sure for those
running aftermarket sus.

I'll believe a front STB on these car's when I see it. Sorry, lot's of issue's that I've posted about several times over that make this car differ from the Z in regards to front STB fitment.

G35Sedan, why do you think it's impossible to put a FSTB on the G35? Just because the Z has different fittings, doesn't mean you can't put one on the G. It just means you can't use the same bar as the Z. I was about to order this and see how nice it fits. I was hoping to see if anybody has bought it already. If I end up getting it, I'll keep everybody posted. Thanks guys.

You replied in the very thread that I talk about why not.

https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tires/40533-strut-tower-brace.html

A/c return lines are in the way, as is the power output cable from the battery compartment, not to mention the brackets tabs holding them in place. Then theirs the fact that Nissan purposely did not use the tops of the shock mounts as their mounting spot, they went to length's to weld on the mounting tabs away form that area. I'd like to see how they overcome these things and still offer up a product that is capable of leveraging sufficient force to kill off flex. Don't get me wrong, I'm game for such a product, but the odd's are against it offering up what it offers for the 350Z, let alone how they are going to get around the A/c return lines.

Did you talk directly with the bar maker, or a reseller?

This, I've got to see. The application list is for the G35 Coupe and the 350Z. We all know how different the "Z" is in this area. Why two pieces? Knowing what I know about this car, I don't believe it. I want to believe it, I really do, but how?

Okay I spoke too soon. I just called the guy and asked him to confirm that this product exists and he called me back saying that DC Sports hasn't released it yet. He said they've been saying for about a year that it was coming out soon and he doesn't know if or when it will be released. So I guess you're right. We'll see what happens. Like someone above said, DC Sports said it's coming out soon, so maybe they ran into trouble. I think they said it's only available for the front of the car, not the rear.

Jim,
I am 99.99% sure Nissan did not mount the bar directly to the shock mount location due to clearance issue with the plenum (taking note the engine twists under load). One could further argue, the upper plenum was deficiently sized for the same reason too ... but this one's purely a speculation.

The most effective location to mount a cross bar is where the shock mount is; the epic center of the load during cornering and bumps. Looking at the oem mounting block ... I can confidently tell you, as an engineer, they look very 'after thought'.

Now that's a argument I can accept, thanks Clint.

i have discussed this on a different forum, but i am about 75% done with the fabrication of a front strut tower brace for my G35 coupe. the brackets are make from mild steel, and the cross bar is aluminum. it is pretty mean looking, but the clearances are damn close. it will not work with the engine cover. i will post pics when i finish it.
