19" Volk tires

Need your expert advice (chart below)

I am expecting my Volk SF-Winnings to arrive around the 8th of May. I am having a dilema choosing tires. My wheel info is as follows............

Volk SF-Winning

19 x 9.5 + 29 front
19 X 10.5 + 29 rear

I know I need 255 35 19 for the front
would prefer 285 35 19 rear, but have done research and think I can get
275 35 19

This leaves me with three wheel choices. I looked on Consumer Reports and cannot decide between...........

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 255/275 35 19 and........
Toyo Proxes T1-S 255/275 35 19

I want a warranty and need to buy locally. I can get the Toyo's for $1376 mounted/balanced and the Goodyears for $1120. I know the Toyo's have slightly better performance at a little more cost. I am not worried about paying more. What I am concerned about is tread life.

Any experts out there that can give some concrete advice. I can also get the conti-sport II by continental. CR gave them a great road noise rating, but the guy I bought the wheels from said he had them once and they were really loud. Help me make a choice.

Refer to this chart if you like..............

I would also like to add that Big O Tires had been a big help in the process of buying wheels and tires. If it were not for them I would have bought some cheap O ADR wheels for the G. That makes me lean towards the Goodyear's because I can get them from them. But the Toyo's do have a better perf. rating.

If I only could find out about TREAD LIFE, I could easily come up with my answer.

I've got these on right now and I love em!

Toyo Proxes T1-S 255/275 35 19

Exact same sizes too. Toyo only makes 275 as the widest rear for the 19" fitment. Even though its not 285 it still looks very nice!

I got Toyo. Very nice and hella sticky! How do I know this? Well, before getting the rim and tire setup, I usually take a turn near my house at 35mph with a little under steering through the turn and going into the outter lane. After changing to the aftermarket setup....i experienced a lot of over steering and ending up in the inner lane! I almost hit the curb. But basically, any performance tire will do that.

Thanks for the relplies. I was not sure if the 275 was going to be OK on a 19 x 10.5 +29.

I know the Toyo's handle very well, but so will the Goodyear's. The Toyo's will be a little better.

Anyone have experience with the tread life on any of these tires. That would help a lot with my decision.

I just read a post in which someone said that the Toyo's have a week sidewall.

Does this apply to all Toyo's? Are the T1-S better?

I don't want to be driving fast and have a tire blow out! YIKES!

I bought some Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for my 18" ADRs. I have been very happy them. I bought them last April with about 23-24K on my car. I currently have about 36-37K and the fronts still have plenty of tread. I had a rear tire blowout not too long ago (road hazard) and I ended up replacing just the rears. I believe when they measured the tread depth I still had over 50% tread left in both front and rear. They can be a lil noisy on certain surfaces, but it's bearable. Very good grip on dry or wet surfaces.

I would be interested in trying the Toyos, but not for the extra price.

Now my ADR M-sports...that's another story....

Thanks for the feedback.

Atleast I have it narrowed down to the....
Goodyear GSD3
Toyo T1-S
Continental Sport Contact II

I keep leaning towards the Goodyear's because they have a great rating and just about as good of a handling score as the Toyo's.

The Conti's don't have as good of a score for perf, but a slightly better score than the Pilot Sports. They have the best rating for road noise, and they come in a 285 35 19.
That is the size I want for my rear 19 x 9.5 +29 Volk wheels. The 275 of the Goodyear and Toyo's will be stretched.
