19" Wheels that are lighter than stock 19s
So I am starting to get that "need new wheels" bug. Right now I have the stock 19" wheels but I would like something aftermarket. The problem is the fact that these things are so darn light. I do not want to switch them out for a heavier set. Anyone have ideas for a lighter or just as light set of 19s? I prefer Black/polished lip or gunmetal colored. Thanks!

Still, I'm going to put them up for sale so I can get some new wheels. The bidding starts at $2k

I weighted my stock 19" and they were around 48-51lbs with tires. Without tires the stock 19" weight around 20lbs a piece. One thing to keep in mind that the stock 19" are actually made by Rays Engineering (maker of Volk Racing) and they are forged as well. You'd be hard pressed to find lighter and better performing aftermarket wheels unless you go for super-light rims on the market. (CE28N, TE37, CP-F...)
The disadventages of the stock 19" are these - lack of width, lack of a fat lip.
My suggestion is that if you really want high performance, keep the stock 19" and get lightweight Toyo tires. Replacing stock Bridgestones with Toyos would be equivalent to shaving 5lbs off your wheel weight. If you want even lighter rims - get some 18" forged rims.

Suk,
20 lbs sounds pretty good, but most people don't understand that a bigger wheel means bigger tire, which means the weight savings could be negated. However, I have seen no published weights for the CE28N or TE37's. I have seen the CP-F's weight though and they are lighter than the OEM 19s.
