19" Wheels that are lighter than stock 19s

So I am starting to get that "need new wheels" bug. Right now I have the stock 19" wheels but I would like something aftermarket. The problem is the fact that these things are so darn light. I do not want to switch them out for a heavier set. Anyone have ideas for a lighter or just as light set of 19s? I prefer Black/polished lip or gunmetal colored. Thanks!

Volk LE-37T or LE-28N?

They are both around 20 lbs. and come in wider widths than the stock wheels.

thing to remember is that the aftermarket wheels might be similar or slightly
lighter in weight, but the higher performance tire you may plan to use might
be much heavier.

If I were to go aftermarket I would definitely sell them. However, all these nice looking wheels seem so much heavier then the stock 19s so I am not sure I will take the plunge. I might just powdercoat the stockers grey or something.

There are no 19's on Ebay yet, that must mean the factories in China haven't ripped off the design yet

How much do the stock weigh?

When Protocav (Chad) did my spring installation, we weighed the wheels and tires and they both came to 41lbs...which I believe approximates to between 17-19lbs. Pretty awesome for 19's!!

Still, I'm going to put them up for sale so I can get some new wheels. The bidding starts at $2k

That can't be right. 41 lbs. is way off. According to the Bridgestone website the Re050a's weight 27/30 lbs. f/r.

My memory is bad, but it's not way off In any case, the stock 19's are super light compared to most stock wheels...not to mention they look much better than most as well!

I remember someone from freshalloy weighed the 19s and he said they were ~20 lbs just for the wheels. So it should be 47 front 50 rear with tires. Bridgestone seems to make the heaviest tires of almost all manufacturers.

I weighted my stock 19" and they were around 48-51lbs with tires. Without tires the stock 19" weight around 20lbs a piece. One thing to keep in mind that the stock 19" are actually made by Rays Engineering (maker of Volk Racing) and they are forged as well. You'd be hard pressed to find lighter and better performing aftermarket wheels unless you go for super-light rims on the market. (CE28N, TE37, CP-F...)

The disadventages of the stock 19" are these - lack of width, lack of a fat lip.

My suggestion is that if you really want high performance, keep the stock 19" and get lightweight Toyo tires. Replacing stock Bridgestones with Toyos would be equivalent to shaving 5lbs off your wheel weight. If you want even lighter rims - get some 18" forged rims.

Suk,

20 lbs sounds pretty good, but most people don't understand that a bigger wheel means bigger tire, which means the weight savings could be negated. However, I have seen no published weights for the CE28N or TE37's. I have seen the CP-F's weight though and they are lighter than the OEM 19s.
