strut tower braces
the G is such a rigid platform that it isnt going to be revolutionary. i drove it around all day today with the bar in place, and i can tell the defference in certain places. over bumps that use to make my car "wallow" or twist, now i feel that i am actuating the suspension more, since the unibody is stiffer. when i got home today, i welded in another small gusset, and painted the end pieces (the end brackets are steel, and the center bar is aluminum). in fact, the end pieces are drying in my oven right now. i will probably let them sit all day tomorrow, and put them in when i get home from work. i will take pictures, and most likely start a new thread when i post the pics.

How does this fit over the plenum - I take it you have a stock one. Would those of us with aftermarket plenums that raise the front up as high as the rear potentially have issues if we tried to do what you are doing?

the end brackets came out pretty good. i will assemble and take pictures tonight.

I'll pay whatever you charge -but are you actually going to fabricate the brackets for multiple buyers. I am very interested in this and would love to be a tester or whatever if you need one. You could probably sell 1000 of these things. Also where do you get the brace from? Let is know if the welding made a difference. Would this and an x-brace be the ticket. I actually think this frame is a little too wobbly after driving a passat which is the same platform as the 02-05 A4. VERY solid. I think the G relies on the stiff springs to feel rigid and is twisty over uneven surfaces and rolls a bit in turns. The rear sway only helps the rear!
WOW...don't you guys work during the day. i told you that all of the stuff is at home...i am at work...and i will post pics tonight.
this design was very hard to build (actually any design will be hard since there is such little clearance) so i have no intention of making more and selling them. i might consider selling the one i made, for the right price, and making another one for myself. the second one will be easier.
in the future, i will try to make a simpler design, that i could make more of.
stay tuned until tonight, and i don't think we really need any more wasted space on this thread with "i want pictures" comments. i get the idea.

The issue of the AC lines getting in the way of the bracket and fitting that thing into such a small space if solved is worth it! Not sure why you are so surprised someone wouldn't pay for the ingenuity...
