DEGREASER on RIMS

There's this industrial grade degreaser that my friend uses @ his car wash.

It's red in color, I have no idea of the name it's made by some company MACK SUPPLIES? It's RED and he uses it to spray on rims to clean them and get rid of the brake dust... it seems to work awesome on my rims, but I'm curious is there any sort of clearcoat or anything I should wash out for?

Thanks

hm.... the degreaser that my detailer used on my Amistads killed my lip.. so i would stay away from those if i were you...

Just simple car soap and water should do fine..

I am trying out this new product called wheel wax. its working out pretty nicely.. Its a cleaner and a wax...

I only use car shampoo and water, then polymer wax afterwards.

I would not use any strong solvents or detergents to clean your wheels.

the meguiars wheel cleaner works really well. you don't even have to wipe it off. just spray on the wheel and spray with a hose.

Paranormal used black magic wheel cleaner on his wheels and it ate the clear coat off the lip... days after they were on the car... they're being refinished as we speak....... i would highly recommend using only soap and water... windex if necessary

Is it noticeable when the clear coat comes off?

G352NV, you spray the citrus cleaner on your rims?

What does a wheel w/ an eaten up clearcoat look like?
(Is it noticible immediately after usage (ie: after washing it off w/ water) or is it noticible over time?)

we advise people to only use soap and water, you can also use simple green from what dazz has notified us. However soap and water is your best bet.

your wheels? the answer is yes your clearcoat will get tarnished.. only use soap and water or the wheel polish for your wheels

With all the brake dust I get on my wheels, if I only use soap and water I feel like I would have to scrub the wheels. I don't want to scratch them. Are you sure that the Meguiars wheel cleaner will tarnish my wheels?

If your wheels have a clear coat I wouldnt risk using the meguiars wheel cleaner if they're just an aluminum wheel then you're fine
