18" wheels for sedan

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone with the sedan has changed their wheels with the following configuration:

front 18 X 7.5 225/45/18 Wheels with 1.10%
rear 18 X 9.0 255/40/18 Wheels with 1.30%

front 18 X 7.5 225/40/19 Wheels with 0.90%
rear 18 X 9.0 255/35/19 Wheels with 1.10%

1) Will there be enough clearance for the rear fender with the 255 tires ?
2) If I drop the suspension with Eibach springs, will the 255 tires still fit the rear.
3) Will the car's VDC be affected with the small difference in diameter from the stock wheel ?
4) How does the ride feel compared to the original setup when the profiles are lowered to 40 and 45 series ?
5) Will the car's fuel economy drop significantly ?

I'm also looking at 18's but would probably go with the coupe specs. Or if I want to keep tire rotation possible, 235/45 or 245/45 all around.

Re: 18" wheels for sedan

hmm, would this mean that notwithstanding the VDC/staggered tire issue, 225/50/17 all around would be better than 235/50/17 (even though the 235s are closer to stock dia.)?

In other words, is it a better fit clearance wise and close enough speedometer wise?

You know what? I've never really understood that VDC/staggered issue... partly because it seems to me that the VDC would work on the powered (rear) wheels (I night be wrong), so if the front's a different size, it should not matter. Guess I gotta do a little research... but at a minimum, same size all around should not affect the VDC at all (I think).

That's because, officially, Infiniti says that 225 is the max recommended width for the front wheel well on the coupe or sedan.

chinee: I agree on the VDC issue. It's what I've heard, and I'm not willing to take the risk (plus my original tires are far from needing replacement). Just waiting for someone to say "Hey, I put 15" tires on the front and 24" tires on the back, and the slip light never comes on!" Err... you get the idea.
