Will a stock 18 rear rim work for the front

I just bought a rear rim and tire. I am using the stock 225 pilot (front tire)and tossing it on the new rear rim. My question is I could have sworn I read that there is a bolt or something that you have to remove from the rim to make this work. It is put on there to prevent people from rotating the tire since they are different tires. I am looking at the rim right now and I dont see anything like a bolt on the inside of the rim. Please hlep before I go swap this out.

Thanks Steve

so i guess you got it?

the bolt is not on the wheel, it is on the front where the lug studs are. When you take the front wheel off you will see it. It has a small steel sleeve behind it to make it stick out a little. Just remove it and the rear wheel will fit on the front just fine. The front and rear rims are both the same size (18x8), you will just need to fit it with the right size tire.

How much does the rear wheel stick out when mounted on the fronts?

I am getting some 17x9 w/ 27 offset for both front/back for autocross, and when I got a fit check of the wheel only on the front, it was flush w/ the side of the body. I really can't tell if it will fit until I get the tire on it though (255/40-17 Kumho V700 competition tire, backordered right now )

it should be exactly the same. The specs for the rear and front are the same 18x8 with 30 mm offset, AFAIK. I believe both the front and rears are identical except for the spot on the fronts that takes the bolt.
I am getting some 17x9
well that would be 1" wider than the stock 18 rims....prob why it might look like it sticks out.

I was wondering if the rear wheels will fit on the front, if you have the brembo brakes? I noticed that inside the rear wheels around the lugnuts are configured different than the front wheels.
