Got my Eibach's

I got the Eibachs from Stillen. Ordered them on the 13th and they arrived on the 19th. I will try to make time this weekend and install them.

Re: Got my Eibach's

Well, this will be my first wrenching on the G. However, I have extensive experience with off-road custom vehicles and this shouldn't be very difficult. The only tool I need is the spring compressor. I am trying to locate one to rent.

It's not that hard. Spring compressor helps, impact wrench helps alot to unscrew the bolt on top of the shock. Also a long bar or bat is needed

Re: Got my Eibach's

suspension is simple!
Spring compressors are a must, they can be rented from autozone for free...

Impact wrench would be nice, especially to undo the bottom bolts. Should be simple though, no rust..

Torque wrench would be nice to tighten back to factory spec, but most people think the tighter the better.

Just remember one thing guys, LOOSEN the middle bolt on the strut, DO NOT REMOVE IT until the whole assembly is off and the spring is compressed.

Re: Got my Eibach's

How did raise the G up for the jack stands. I slid my jack under where the factory jack should go and I can't seem to get the jack stands to sit correctly. For the back, did you raise the G up and use the jack to lower the spring down - ie did not use the spring compressor. Also, my spring compressor is for struts, but it seems to work on the front well.

Thanks,
Robert

Re: Got my Eibach's

Can you keep the 18" wheels on with this kit, or do you have to go to 17s? I suspect the 18s are OK, the kit lowers the car only 1.1", but does anyone know for sure?

Also, does this prevent you from then being able to also add a body kit?

You can fit 20's with the Eibach Pro Kit and still. It's the overall diameter (height) of the tires that matter. I have 245/35/20's on my sedan and they fit nicely with the Eibach drop.
