G35x Rotors

Does anyone here know if the calipers on the 2005 G35x and G35 Sedan are the same? If so, is there any reason why someone couldn't swap out the larger rotors and caliper brackets from a RWD G35 Sedan and toss them on a G35x? I'm thinking of buying a G35x and I'm intersted in a (reasonably) inexpensive break upgrade.

Good question-

The G35x uses a different caliper - Look close and you'll notice the muli-piston design of the normal sedan's caliper-And you want the larger caliper as well !

With a Passat I owned, there was a neat trick where you could install the A8 rotors using the stock caliper- The trick was to use the larger caliper carrier on the stock rotor. Braking performance was marginally improved.

At the end of the day it cost about $500 to get it right. Double that and some change and you have an upgraded braking system from Stoptech.

I'm probably going to just install a set of aftermarket rotors and calipers after these wear out- Stock braking performance on my X is decent as the rear rotors are vented and fairly large.

I haven't actually ever seen the newer rotors/calipers on the RWD cars. I checked with 3 dealers and none had a single RWD sedan on the lot. That is why I decided to consider the G35x.

Are you telling me that not only does the RWD car have larger rotors, but it also has better calipers as well? If so, they're charging us a lot more than $2000 extra for that AWD system...

EDIT: Are there any up-sized rotors and caliper brackets that will work with the stock G35x calipers? I'd like to upgrade the breaking system if I get this car but I'd like to do it at <$1K all around, not at $6K for a complete BBK.
