stretched tires or non-stretched tires

Sorry if this is a repost, I can't find anything on search. But anyways, I am going to order a set of VOLK LE37T 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 rims. Not to sure on what tires to get. Alot of people get the 255/35/19 (front) and 285/35/19 tires (rear), and from that I have read that some are having rubbing issues with the fender. So, I was thinking about getting the 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires. From my understanding, those tires will look stretched. Are there any problems with having stretched wheels? Thanks

no problems at all. honestly, it's a JDM thing and it's super popular. i'm running 245/35 275/30 on my 9.5/10.5's. it's all up to you. i used to have 35 series in the rear also. if you want pics, check out friends and i here:

if you were to really stretch them like the JDM guys (225/35 255/265/35), then your tires will wear a little quicker.

10.5 wheels or anything bigger simply doesnt look right because there's no good tires in a 30 series that fits them well. I'm running 285/30's on my 20x10.5 Volks and IMO the rear looks awful! I found a set of 295 wide tires Pireli makes (run ya about $350 a pop) but they're a 25 series tire and quite frankly I do not want to run such a small profile tire on my rear. The 30's are bad enough! That's just my cents, and as for the "JDM thing" that's one JDM mod I would love to do without!

Maybe someone down the line will come out with a 30's series 295 or 305 tire......

Honestly, I'm on the proml for a set of 9.5 or 10" wide wheels. I would rather have them smaller (width wise) with a nice offset, and tires that fit the rims square. Once again that's just my 2 cents...

Wow, those are some nice pictures. Well, now that ducatiguy mentioned it, does any body have a picture of the rear with 19x10.5 wheels. I see many people running with this set up and most of them love it.

again, it's your preferrence. 30/35 is good enough. why would you want such a fat looking tire, when our cars aint even supercars? if we had RB's under our hoods, and tighter suspension, maybe the fatter, meatier looking tires will do. sidewall flexing sucks too.

i used to have 19x8.5 / 19x9.5 sf's and loved them. my car ran faster with them as well. i switched because i started to like the bigger Labia you can get with a wider heel.

as far as the series goes......25's isn't bad because the wider you go the lower the series gets to compensate.

Just out of curiousity, how much of a performance difference did you make from making a switch between the two set of rims.

Thanks guys for all your help and advises. I think I am going to stick with the 9.5/10.5 set up with the 245/35 and 275/35 set up. There won't be rubbing right with the 35 in the back or should i go 30?

if you drop the rear more than 1.5", get a camber kit to straighten it out, and depending on the choice of tire, you may rub (dayam run on sent!!!). if vdc is something you cherrish, get 35 series.
