front higher than rear after tein s-tech install, normal?

i notice that my front sits a lil higher than the rear after installing the tein s-tech springs on my coupe, the front i can fit like maybe 2 fingers in the gap and the rear is no gap perfect. Why is this? is this normal or did i miss something in the install process?

Could be one of two things:
1 - small chance at install error, springs reversed, highly doubtfull though, most of the time, if someone knows how to install springs, they would know which are fronts vs rears

2 - another possibility is that it may need to settle, the front is much heavier witht the motor so I would think that it may need some time to settle.

What was the drop rate for front and rear?

Haven't lowered my '05 Sedan yet, but with OEM Sport Suspension, the front sits a full 3/4" higher than the rear. I've been told by several credible sources that this is inherent to the G. I definitely don't like the look of the cavernous front wheel wells, but it's good to know it's not abnormal.

FWIW, I know several people who've used rear "spacers" when lowering to make sure the front lowers more than the rear. -T

no, it's not normal if you have any experience with lowering springs. unless you have a
huge *** heavy stereo in the back the car should sit higher on the rear with the
s-techs. i think the only springs that sagged the rear was the Tanabe's (if i remember correctly).

Kenchan, help me understand this - I'm a new-B. I posted with some concern about how much higher the front fender gaps are on my new (not-yet-lowered) '05 Sedan and practically got laughed out of the forum for not knowing that this was "normal". Are you saying that this is not normal or simply that lowering springs are supposed to even this up? Thanks for the help. -T

teeter- the front will have more gap at factory stance as the manufacturer wants
to keep as much suspension travel as possible. but that does not necessarily mean
that the front is higher than the rear. the rear fender arch is lower than
the front so it appears as the front is raised.

but having more gap in the front than the rear on the s-techs..that is an installation problem.

Do you have a coupe or sedan? The Stech's for the coupe should lower the front more than the rear. F 1.1" and R .9".

I also have more gap in the front than the rear with the S-types. If they don't rub, it doesn't bother me though.

see, i'm not the only one with this issue with the tein s-techs, i got the ones for the g35coupe, and not the 350z...

thats exactly what i have on mine too, running on factory 18's, i get about a 2finger gap i the front and about 1 in the back... not sure why, i noticed in the instructionsn it say to cut half of the front or rear bumpstops, do you guys think maybe thats why the front sits a lil higher?

I thought the S Techs dropped a bit more. Eibach and H&R drop about the same as the S Techs, right? I want a little over an inch drop.

You deff have a little problem...Ill try to post some pics up tomorrow night, but the S.Techs lower the car a significant amount. It looks as though GLENNP's G may not have setlled 100%yet. I have 20's, and my front wheels are tucking about a half inch over the rim (not the wheel) and in the rear it is tucking about a inch over the rim (not the wheel). It may be possable that the rubber spring stoper (if thats what its called, but the rubber piece on the bottom of the spring) may not be installed correctly.
