G35X (that's X) Fitment question?

I am trying to decide on 18" wheel/tire sizes for my 05 G35X -

I am looking at OEM 5-spoke (split) 18 x 7.5s with 235/45s to start. But then I fell in love with the PIAA Sport Mesh 18 x 8.5s and now have a question about tire sizes.

I have seen a lot of different tire aspect measurements for the Sedan - from 235/45, 245/40 to as wide as 265/40?

Now, I know there is room to play but don't you have to keep the rolling circumference the same? So if factory 18s come on 235/40 tires how can you go 265 wide with a 40 sidewall aspect?

I think you'll find that the OEM is 235/45 - 18
