Stock tires not meant for rain race...

I was accelerating from a stop lighting normally when the Tiberon next to me mesh his pedal and was 1-2 cars ahead and still goin... at that point I hit the pedal and gained past him 1/2 car but then the car jerked like its hydro planning on the water... I shut it down just to be safe and let him past... under normal driving, the stock tires are fine... but with full throttle while its wet...the event kinda scared me... yea I was being a little stupid wit the short drag in the rain... but never again.

If it's going to rain as much as it did last winter in So. Cal... I'm going to have to get better traction tires. Too many spots in the road with an overflowing amt of water here for the stock tires...

The 19" OEM rims are really nice... the Potenza 050 OEM tires sux. It's not too bad in rain, but forget it on snow.

anytime it's wet out, you should ease up on the gas.. you can spin out even in a little puddle and VDC won't save you evertime..

the Potenza 050 are some of the better OEM's out there. Here's a link to an article on it:

http://www.freshalloy.com/site/featu...002/home.shtml

and here's a comparison:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bs_RE050A_rd.jsp

As you can see (or read), these are used on some pretty high-end cars. He even used it in the rain. The 18's oem suck I hear though.
