When to do alignment?

Hi i'm sorry I know that this is a newb question, especially for me but I just changed to aftermarket volks about 8,000 miles ago and wondering if I should be doing an alignment now. I've always had stock wheels but was wondering if alignment should be done sooner or later and at how manyXXXX thousand miles for 19'' since tire size/tread is different. Thanks

so if you go from stockers to a 19 or 20, you only have to align if you lower?

if your new wheels fit, no need to align unless you have other issues such as tramlining which can be cured to a point with alignment.
