Winter Tires
Winter Tires
Want to draw on everyone's experience on winter tires.
Which of the following tires is the best one to go with for the winter?
Blizzak WS-50 Q rated (not to exceed 99mph)
Blizzak LM-22 H or V rated (130 for H and 149 for V)
Dunlop M3 H or V rated (130 for H and 149 for V)
Do lower speed rated tires, specifically the WS-50 wear out faster because of the softer compound? I have heard that the WS-50 is awesome in the snow and ice but not that great in term of dry condition driving. I am in Philadelphia, so it only snows like 10 times in the winter. Need good handling in dry condition. and definitely don't want to smoke these tires when I drive hard in dry condition.
I am leaning toward the Dunlop M3s because of the rave reviews on tirerack. It has higher rating than the LM-22s.
And how do I turn off the tire pressure monitoring system after I remove the stock wheels?
Please post your two cents. thanks in advance.
