Now that I have a place I can go to and see some rims for our cars in person (Modacar, thanks to Cru) I am considering more options. Seems like most shops now adays are all about the SUV 22s on up!

I will most likely also be considering the Volks Ce28N (forged monoblock aluminum) and GT7 (2 piece, forged aluminum). These are both lighter in weight from what I have read, and very strong rims.

Who knows what I will end up with....maybe some Daytons when its all said and done

I really do appreciate everyones input. Hearing other peoples opinions and info, helps me consider things I may have not thought of or thought they were not really a factor. A good rim is more than just looks to me.

Pics...Ce28N and GT7 (in that order)

My next wheels will be the CE28N, in bronze.

They are gorgeous wheels, with a racy edge, and they are very, very light.

My HP Racing Evo's look similar to the C4's- which is to say they are SEXY, but the looks are not worth the detriment to performance because of their weight.

The CE28N was one of the first wheels I considered when shopping for new shoes. I wnet away from them only because they did not have the lip I was looking for. You can't go wrong with Volks. They are definitely a good "bang for the buck" option. People complain that everybody has Volks, but there is a reason for that. So many G owners can't be wrong.

I know you got good taste in rims Cru...with those RH Evo J8s...sweet.

I honestly don't know what I will end up with but these 4 are still definately on the list.

I knew this would be a back and forth between the mesh look and the more sporty look. I like both and am sure which ever I do decide on, I will be happy. I just need to see them in person to make a real decision. You know how that goes, looks great on the net, not so good in person

Im going to be iching to leave all day at work tomorrow so I can head over to Modacar. I am even going in early so I can leave earlier!

I like the C4's. The 19x9 is approx. 24 lb according to a few of the sponsors who I've PM'd awhile ago.

Modacar doesnt stock the rims I am looking at. I still need to go over there and get some price quotes and see how long it takes to get these types of wheels. Volks will be the hardest to get or so it seems.

Anybody know of a place in the Bay Area that stocks a good selection of import wheels? San Jose? Anywhere. There has to be somewhere local that has a larger selection of import wheels.....isnt there? I am going to start calling these online stores tomorrow and see if anyone has any stock on hand.

I got a quote today from one of our sponsors, good price but one won't be available till January and the other 60 to 90 days!

Papa needs an early Xmas present!!

Pa- I was just about to call you daddy,

I don't think any of the local shops carry many of these wheels in stock, but I know that a handful of forum sponsors do. It is a gamble when you order wheels without seeing them in person, but it is your best bet to get them in a timely manner.

Thanks vodka!

I love it when they call me Big Papa!

I finally found some Volks in stock.....but from one of our sponsors. I am leaning towards the GT-7s. I've always loved the mesh look (still do) but keep looking back to a more race inspired look. I think the GT-7s give me a bit of both, luxury and sporty. Either way I think I will be happy but with the Volks, I get the light weight and good looks.

Making a decision today or tomorrow (get to see the C4s in person tomorrow!!!)

Too late. I've been through 3 sets of rims and the ones posted above (iForged Essens) are what I'm stickin with

I went with Volk GT-7s just a few weeks after this thread got posted up in 11/2005. Changed the look in 01/2007
