Will rims ever be scratchfree on delivery?
I just received my winter setup from tirerack recently. As I'm unwrapping it, I have noticed minor surface scratches on it. There is also a minor bump on the paint, which is probably from uneven painting. This rims cost me $800 altogether, which doens't include the tire prices.
Am I too picky about the rims or will they always come with minor imperfections?

so i just called tire rack and they are willing to take of $40 off for each rim, which means that I will pay $620 vs. $780.
Each rim has some kind of paint imperfection. There are minor bubbles and indentations (sort of like dimples in the paint). I can live with the imperfections, but being the perfectionist I am I would like to have perfect wheels.
Should I take tirerack's discount of $160?
I know the rims are cheap, but they are still $780 for a set of 4. Any other guys have problem with their paint when they bought cheap rims?

They're giving you about 20% discount so that's not bad based on the discription you are giving us. Since they're winter rims, I'd say accept it. Of course, you can go through the trouble of exchanging them and ask for a discount.

ok I've decided to keep the rims because of the following reasons
1. they are winter rims
2. they now offered $50 off each rim, which makes the total price 580 vs. 780
3. The pics that I need to take to send to tirerack don't seem to capture what I see.
4. It's too much trouble to send them back to tirerack
5. Too much wait time for new wheels
6. Looking more than a feet away would cover the blemishes on the paint
7. most importantly they're winter wheels
BUT next time I buy rims, they're not going to be winter rims. Most likely, they will cost me 3 grand for a set, so I hope they will come delivered in flawless condition.
Thanks for your replies guys
