Toyo Proxes T1R - Q?

My 18" Michelin Pilot Sport on my 2003.5 6MT Coupe need replacement. I like the Michelin performance, but foud them noisy after 5K Miles. If you have Toyo T1R on 18", I would appreciate your comments. Especially as it relates to comfort/noise vs performance. Note: I did a search and didn't find much on the TR1. Thanks.

I know a lot of members here roll on Toyo tires. I was just about to get a set until I read Car & Driver's latest tire comparo. Check their website to read the article and decide for yourself. I decided to stick with the Nitto 555 series tires that I had on my Accord.

If you want to take a look,
Car and Driver did a comparison test on all the major brands of performance tires. Some good information.

I didn't really like my T1R's too much. I'd recommend the michellins over them and the T1S's myself.

i hate my t1-r's

loved my t1-s's

i think the new tread design in worse than the t1-s's. i find that i am always spinning them and their wet traction is much worse. the only think good about the new tread design is that it was made to make them a little quieter.

The tread patterns of the winner of the tire comparo (Goodyear) and the T1-S look so much alike. I love my T1-S, but I hear alot of negative reviews on the T1-R. Try the T1-S. They are very sticky, but very noisy when they wear.

I think the sidewalls on the T1-R feels soft and mushy in hard cornering.

I pumped them up to 38psi and they feel some better but I will not put on another set when these are gone.
