Front wheel/bearing/brake NOISE?!

Anyone else have a humming/grinding noise from front wheels? Servicing next Monday and wanted to see what to expect.

Re: Front wheel/bearing/brake NOISE?!

It sounds as if I am having the same problem with my car. My G35 Coupe has 13,500 miles. The car has an incredibly loud roar coming from the front tires which is actually louder at low speeds. This noise was not to be heard until recently.

My Infiniti dealer checked the car last week and said the noise was commonplace with these tires. In fact, he said the dealership had already had one G35 trade in due to the tire noise.

I don't know if I'm buying their story. I took my car to the local Michelin dealer today. He checked my tires and said both front tires have uneven wear on the inside half of the treads on both the driver and passenger side. This, he said, is what is causing the roar.

I'd like to hear what you found out when you had your car serviced.

Re: Front wheel/bearing/brake NOISE?!

I only have about 9k on my coupe and I noticed the rear tires have a lot of inside wear. Did nissan purposely make the car with lots of camber?

I'm getting my 20's with new tires soon, and I don't want to see a pair of 1,000 dollar tires go in about 5 months.

I don't know what the deal is, but I will be taking my car in for service again next week to give them the opportunity to check camber as well as toe-in.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i'm having this problem and i'm wondering if you guys resolved it? I hear a loud thumping/humming noise around 15-25 mph. I went to get it balanced today and they said balance problems shouldn't be making these noises. Any ideas? It just started happening when i put on a set of used aftermarket rims

Im having the same exact problem. At a constant speed of 20mph, there is a rubbing noise comign from the front...

When i apply the brakes to slow down, the front end makes a type of roaring sound...

I have stock OEM 19's with 17K on the car.

Im making and appointment for this week and ill post up what the deal is.

Unfortunately DIRECTIONAL performance tires with performance values on suspension and failure to flip and rotate every 4k can lead to noise and abnormal wear. Tires are often a serious expense if quietness is desired, frequent replacement and early mainteance is necessary.

You can detune the suspension parameters [camber/toe] to reduce costs.

BUMPPPPP

I have the EXACT same problem. Only between around 15-25mph the front end making a loud humming/roaring sound coming from the tires. This didn't happen w/ my Volks a week ago, but since switching back to OEMs it's making this damn sound. Also it looked like neither of the OEM wheels had weights on them? what the hell?

The "grinding" sound (grinding, whining or growling, depending on how people describe it) would suggest a bad bearing or thinning brake pads: the humming sound would suggest tires. Brakes have wear indicators that make an audible sound akin to what you describe.

Good luck!
