2005 18" sport wheels - anyone gone to a wider tire?

My car - 2005 6MT Sedan:

The factory 18's are 18x7.5 (geeze... they couldn't have made them 18x8?!?!) with 235/45-18 tires. Has anyone done a plus zero and gone with a 245/40-18? And if so, do you have any rubbing issues?

Looking up the tire specs on Tire Rack, all 245/40 series tires require a minimum wheel width of 8" and 8.5"... so this is a concern.

Thanks.

I put on Bridgestone S0-3 PP 245/40/18 no issues.

Thanks - Got any pics showing the S-03's on the sport wheels? So no rubbing at all? Do you still have the stock sport suspension? How do the tires respond/handle compared to the OEM size? Any squirm or float?
