So iforged has a 1 year warranty on the chrome plating which sounds reasonable.

Do other wheel manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on thier finishes?

Agree with Moog. Most manufacturers will not even recommend or warranty chrome wheels. In time, it will start fading or peeling, just depends on the weather, and driving conditions, etc. Once debris or rock chips hit those wheels, you'll get little nicks, and it can start the process of peeling/chipping. Rain and moisture getting on those damage areas, can make it worst quickly. Ragardless how well the chroming was done ( triple nickel plating, etc.), it can be damaged. Even HRE's dont recommend chroming their wheels, because chrome will NOT last. Most likely yours is a 3-piece, just re-chrome the damaged wheel.

A lot of people have huge expectations that are really just due to ignorance.

Yes, finish and structure are two different things. But shouldn't a good wheel be high quality in both aspects? I think the better informed the buyer is, the better decision he or she can make.

Who's laughing over the structural integrity? Not me. It essentially can be a life or death issue in this case. I know insiders in the wheel industry and that's the news I've heard. If you think I'm lying, search for the details and ask around. That's one of the main reasons I didn't go with iForged (quality and customer service issues).

I did a simple search on Yahoo:

This may be the guy that I'm referring to or another case. It's no secret and I'm not a fictional author.

Heck, that's more than reasonable. Try to get a one year warranty on a chrome wheel for a Harley, and they're a whole lot more expensive for what you get. Most companies won't warranty chrome, at all, and the ones that do, only for as long as their plater does.

Totally unreasonable expectations.

This is also pretty informative...

Sorry! My last .02 cents.

I have no affiliation with iForged or any other wheel company. I think the wheels/company speak for themselves.

Customer service = yes, even hres according to the first of your links
Issues with wheels = yes, even hres according to the first of you links

and about your first link, I seriously still don't believe it b/c:

1) he as crusing at at 95-110?
2) he thought he felt a pothole?
3) If persay the riviets were coming loose.....even 1/4 of the wheel, then there should be vibration right? like a bent wheel? so.....shouldn't he have slowed down? can a wheel structurally fail in 1 second then crash? If he was "cruising" then apparently, the car felt sound.

I am not siding with iforged but that claim doesn't add up imho.

I am currently trying to find that pic/link of that failed kinesis wheel that had that broke at all the spokes and the center is seperated from the wheel.

How did Kinesis get in the mix? Lol.

Fact or fiction, we'll never know b/c neither of us were 1st hand witnesses. I'm wondering if someone from the San Mateo area could order that police report (it's $5 and they keep records up to 2 years I believe). I'm thinking from the Insurance and Police department perspective, why would they side on the driver?

If anything, they'd say wreckless driving and negligence on the driver to put the blame on him and in turn get themselves off the hook for the bill. There has to be overwhelming evidence against the wheel versus the driver if in fact that's what it states in the report.

Given, iForged has changed/improved some manufacturing techniques and materials since the beginning, but why is there still so much negative press against them?

I think their designs are sick, but being a competitive wheel industry, word of mouth and customer service I think are huge tipping points for the buyer (unless you have plenty of $$$ and don't care).

We might as well all roll on stocks...Next thread already...
