Are Axis rims any good?

OK experts of tires and rims. Any opinions on Axis rims? Are they forged or cast? Weight? Still trying to find a good set of rims that are not outrageously priced. Anyone one know of a competitive dealership?

1) Some like them, many don't... Build and finishing quality are an issue to them.

2) Cast

3) Heavy

What's your price range and maybe we can help...

if you search on different forums (i.e. freshalloy, my350z, etc.), you will find that most people consider them pretty decent wheels. by far, not the best, but not bad for the price. they are moderately priced. so, for a little more (around $1000 more), you can get really nice, high quality, lighter wheels.

Re: Are Axis rims any good?

Please recommend a few rim & tires mfg's. I currently have 17" rims with Goodyear Eagle GSA. I am thinking about using 18" rims -- all the same size but going wider all around. I'd like the same profile. I am looking for rims that have a 2 to 2 1/2" lip.
Do not want chrome rims. I heard if you upgrade to 19" or 20" rims and tires, the ride will be bumpy and loud. Can someone confirm this information.

Re: Are Axis rims any good?

$2,000 for rims and tires. Do I need to spend more to get a decent quality forged rim? Can you recommend a few mfg's and models. I prefer not to have chrome rims. The salt during the winter time will eat them up. I am looking for conservative rims like the SSR GT or Axis NE-O. But if Axis does not make a quality rim, I'd prefer not to purchase them. Looking for advice.

Re: Are Axis rims any good?

for $2000, you'll probably only be able to get cast wheels for the most part. i've done quite a bit of research myself when i was looking for rims. and i found a lot of info on the different forums. but if you're only willing to spend about 2 grand total, axis or perhaps 5zigen would be the way to go. forged wheels will normally run you at least $3000. but bottom line, do your searches and read people's personal experiences with the different brands.
