Black Chromed OEM 18's - W/Pics
Re: Black Chromed OEM 18's - W/Pics
Definatelly, I am going to drive around today and ask for prices. 20s are nice, but i want to keep the performance/handling of the 18s. Video would be cool to see.

How much heavier are they now that they are chromed? Also, you guys think it would be worthwhile to do it on the OEM 17's on a sedan? I was looking for some new rims but if this works out, I'd perfer it.

Thanks. I live on the West Coast and got them done at a local shop. There is a place called pacrims which I've heard does black chrome.

I think they would look nice on any color including CB. I think they would look best on a DG. A friend of mine has a Hummer H2 that is charcoal like the DG. He saw my rims and may have his done too. I can picture how good that would look.

Thanks. It took about 10 days, but probably could have been done quicker if the shop hadn't been so busy. My G was up on jacks in my garage during the time the wheels were out. Do you remember your 8th grade science class about kinetic and potential energy? A G up on car jacks is a lot of potential energy to stare at for 10 days. It drove me crazy!!

I don't know what the weight difference is. I can't tell a difference while driving. I suspect it's negligable. I think the process would look great on any wheel, including the sedan 17's. The sedan 17 is a good looking wheel already. This would just make it a little more unique.

It was $820 out the door. I got it done at a local shop here in the Sacramento area. A place called Precision Wheel Works. Ask for B.J. They do excellent work.

Those wheels are nice as I said before. I do think the chrome would look best on a black G, not a DG. For metallic colors, chrome does not look as good as it would on red, white, yellow, and black. For the Brilliant Silver, the stock wheels look good because the color matches.

Is that the permastar process ?
I swear that woulda been done on my car months ago, if there a bleedin place here in Toronto to do it.
