Black Chromed OEM 18's - W/Pics
I just got my wheels back from being black chromed. I think they look amazing. These pictures don't do them justice, but you get the idea. I'll try to take some better pics and post them later.

Wow those look sooo sweet! My one small complaint would be to have it more black in that chrome. SSR does a really nice black chrome finish on their wheels. ill try to post a pic of them.

The rims are actually quite black. The camera has a hard time capturing the actual shade. I don't think I'd want them any darker.
redwillow
Yep. Amber corners have got to go. I'm trying to find a place where I can get smoke colored brake lenses as well. The chroming cost $820 out the door at a local wheel shop here in the Sacramento area.
Here are a few more pics in better lighting:

BTW, to post pictures just insert an html image tag. The pictures need to be hosted somewhere other than this site. At least that's the way I post them.

so in that last pic is that the closest pic to what your rims look like in real life? cuz that last one is just perfect. very dark and shiny at the same time. nice!!! but the price is ouch. so what did your car roll on when your rims were being chromed?

Very cool. I was thinking of getting my chromed as well. One site (4chromewheels) will charge $699 for chrome plated OEM rims and you just send them back yours in the box.

Yes the last picture is probably the closest to what the shade actually looks like. Maybe I'll put together a small video clip to show what they look like in motion. I had my wife drive past me in the sunlight and that's when they really look the best. The price of $820 is actually very reasonable compared to other quotes I got for black chrome.

It's a great alternative for the budget concious. $800 to take nice wheels and make them really unique Vs. $3,500-$5,000 to buy a new set. Of course I wouldn't mind a set of 20's, but you do what you can.
