Lowered my G35 sedan today with Eibachs! (pics)
Just got finished doing this with a friend and myself. It wasn't as difficult to do as I thought, and I'm not very mechanically inclined. We finished with no broken fingers, and missing/extra/broken parts. My wife liked how it turned out as well (added bonus!).
The ride is pretty much the same as my original sport suspension on straight roads and bumps, but take some twisties or a sweeping exit ramp and you'll know you've got better springs. Definitely noticed the G felt better connected to the road with less body roll.
I also need to get everything aligned, but I'll wait until the settling is done. It doesn't look that bad actually. I'm not experiencing any pulling or drifting either. I would recommend this mod for sure, and I LOVE THE NEW LOOK!
The rears took about 10-15 minutes each, and were very easy. All we did was put the car on stands, remove tires, support the lower support arm with a floor jack, raise a little, remove strut bolt from the bottom, and then lower the arm. The spring has already lost its energy by this point and just falls out.
The fronts took a lot longer because we needed to use a spring compressor, and getting the stupid strut/spring assembly out without crushing fingers and lines was a bitch. Getting it back in was just as bad, but it all went back perfectly.
Total Time: 3 hours
DIY Difficulty: 6 (1-10 being hard, recommend having a friend help)
Total Drop: 1-1/4" out of the box, expect more as springs settle
The pics don't do it justice, but pic #5 is the best overall shot...and my other ride in pic #2 is a 1990 SHO we've had since new!
Regards,
JC

Thanks! Depends on the width and difference in the offset from the sedan specs I would imagine. At full compression of the suspension the space at the top of the wheel well gets a little narrower. I think someone else has coupe wheels on their lowered sedan on this forum. You want to scan through all the pictures in the "Rides" section.

You are right. Those pictures do not do the car justice. Wait till it settles and you will love it even more. Stick a finger or two in the front and one in the rear. Soon the front will be one finger and the rear will be one finger, but it won't be straight. Once you get the car aligned and rear camber adjusted, the rear raises back up to a straight finger. Enjoy the new ride!!

It's still a G thang!!

Thanks guys! Saving for rims is exactly what I'm doing. I want to get Maya's STM's in 18 or 19. After seeing the BBS and Axis mesh style rims I may reconsider.
My car in the pics is very dirty, but I just finished washing and detailing. Looks a lot better now!

Rumble,
What do you mean by straight finger? In terms of height, up and down relative to the lenght of a finger or the width?
What is really wierd is that this morning I swore the G dropped a little more, so I measured again from the same position (I'm an SPC geek sometimes so I made a jig to measure and track the drop). Damn thing dropped another 1/8". Eibach's advertised drop is very conservative.
